Dr. Sandeep Bhatia grew up in Peoria, Illinois before attending the University of Illinois, Chicago for his undergraduate education, receiving degrees in both Philosophy and Biology, with Distinction. He obtained his medical degree at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. Dr. Bhatia did his internship at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chicago, and then completed his residency training in Ophthalmology at The Eye Institute of the Medical College of Wisconsin, in Milwaukee. He has published research in peer reviewed journals on risk factors for retinal detachment, as well as intraocular pressure variation with choroidal melanoma. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
Dr Bhatia’s professional interests include cataract surgery, especially refractive laser-assisted cataract surgery and advanced intraocular lenses (IOLs), as well as minimally invasive glaucoma surgery.
Dr Bhatia is excited to join the OMEG team after 12 years of practicing in the Chicago area. He values connecting with patients when discussing their visual needs and problems. Outside of work, Dr Bhatia enjoys activities with his family, exploring the Tulsa area, playing and watching sports, and travel.
