Dr. Jo’el Sturm attended Oklahoma State University for her undergraduate studies. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from Northeastern Oklahoma State University College of Optometry and completed her residency at Triad Eye Institute. Dr. Sturm specializes in Refractive Surgery Management and Ocular Disease. She has focused her career on new technologies in refractive cataract surgery, advanced cataract surgery, and the treatment of keratoconus.
Dr. Sturm served as Vice President of Network Development with the largest refractive surgery provider in North America, managing a sales force of over 40 sales representatives, developing strategic communication for referring doctor customers, and developing robust lead generation and follow up systems to increase patient acquisition through patient education. She is an active member of the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians and Past President of the organization.
Dr. Sturm has also been a residency supervisor in conjunction with NSUOCO. Dr. Sturm lectures on effective patient communications, pre- and post-surgical care, corneal cross linking, keratoconus treatment, and refractive surgery, including refractive cataract surgery.
Dr. Sturm lives in Tulsa with her husband Mike and their 4 children. When she is not busy coaching or cheering for one of them in various sports and theater productions, she enjoys volunteering with her church community at St. Bernards, reading, cooking, and laughing with friends.
