CATALYS® femtosecond laser
For Custom and Advanced Cataract surgery options, Oklahoma Medical Eye Group surgeons use the CATALYS® femtosecond laser.
The CATALYS® femtosecond laser system is designed for a high standard of clinical precision. It has revolutionized the first manual bladed steps of cataract surgery, improving accuracy in that portion of the procedure. With gentle laser energy breaking up the cataract, less swelling and faster healing time can be achieved.
The CATALYS® system was chosen by OMEG surgeons because it is very comfortable for patients. The non-applanating LIQUID OPTICS Patient Interface does not put pressure on the eye which increases comfort. Less pressure on the eye also means a less distorted surface and improved accuracy.
The CATALYS® System also scans the eye during the procedure for real time accuracy by using 3D, high-resolution imaging and guidance technology that work together to deliver an optimal, precise treatment:
- Performs over 10,000 A-scans to capture high-resolution data to measure the front structures of the eye
- Identifies anterior cornea, posterior cornea, iris, anterior lens and posterior lens to guide laser delivery
- Refreshes at 0.5 – 2.0 Hz for uninterrupted visualization of the eye throughout treatment
Why would my doctor recommend the laser to assist with my cataract surgery?
The laser precision and accuracy enables your surgeon to achieve more repeatable results during vision correction.
