The team at Oklahoma Medical Eye Group, or OMEG, provides comprehensive ophthalmic medical and surgical care including cataracts, dry eye, glaucoma, diabetic evaluations, keratoconus treatment and LASIK, PRK, ICL, RLE vision correction procedures. OMEG also offers both functional & cosmetic oculoplastics, and numerous cosmetic procedures, derma fillers and botox. Our team takes pride in providing each patient with personal care without making them feel like they are just a number.
By the age of 40, most people start to experience issues with reading because the eye’s natural lens begins to harden. The inability of the lens to change shape and hence, it’s power, makes it increasingly difficult to see at close distances. Ultimately, a pair of reading glasses or a bifocal is needed. This is known as a loss of accommodation, or presbyopia.
learn moreMany people are unaware that they have cataracts because the changes in their vision are so gradual, and the severity of cataracts vary from person to person. The loss of transparency may be mild, hardly impacting vision, or in some cases so severe that no shapes or movements are seen, only light and dark.
